Privacy Policy
This policy explains how LEADGEN RENTALS (ABN 83 894 208 171) collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version
We collect two kinds of information: details from homeowners who enquire through the campaigns we run, and details from tradespeople (service businesses) who rent slots on our lead engines. Before a homeowner is shown an enquiry form, we assign them to one service business, and that business is named on the consent line they agree to. We use homeowner details to deliver the enquiry to that one business only. We use service business details to provide, bill and support the rental. We do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
From homeowners (leads)
When a homeowner submits an enquiry form on a campaign we run, we collect their name, phone number, and where relevant their email, postcode and project details, together with their consent to be contacted by the service business named on the form. We also record which service business they were assigned to, and technical identifiers used to recognise them on later visits - see "How we decide which business is named" below.
From service businesses
When you engage us we collect your business name, contact name, email, phone number and the payment details needed to process our service fee. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. Your advertising spend is paid by you directly to Meta Platforms on a card you put on the ad account, so we never see, hold or store those payment details.
How we use it
- To deliver each homeowner lead to the one service business that homeowner was assigned to and consented to.
- To recognise a returning homeowner so that they stay with the same service business and are not contacted by a second one.
- To set up, run, bill and support your engine and our management of it.
- To operate and improve our advertising campaigns and services.
- To meet our legal and record keeping obligations.
How we decide which business is named
Before the enquiry form is shown, we assign the visitor to one service business, and that business's name appears on the consent line the homeowner agrees to. To do this, and to recognise the same person if they return, we use the contact details they have previously given us (such as phone number or email address) and technical identifiers such as cookies and device or browser information.
That assignment is permanent. Once a person has been assigned to a service business, later visits and submissions by that person stay with the same business. We do not reassign a person to a different business, so a homeowner is not contacted by two of our renters about the same enquiry.
Who receives an enquiry
Every lead is delivered to one service business only: the business named on the consent line the homeowner agreed to. Leads are not sold, resold, or disclosed to any other business.
Disclosure to third parties
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our payment processor and messaging and email providers, and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information where required by law.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Homeowners can ask the service business who received their enquiry, or us, to stop contacting them at any time.
